Day 1

Arrival in Paro & Cultural Immersion

  • Experience: Your journey begins with a spectacular flight into Paro, surrounded by Himalayan peaks. After meeting your guide, you’ll begin your exploration.
  • Sightseeing: Visit the Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower that now houses the National Museum, offering a fascinating overview of Bhutan’s history and culture. Then, walk down to the magnificent Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), a fortress of golden roofs and intricate woodwork that serves as a fine example of Bhutanese architecture.
  • Evening: Check into your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner.
  • Overnight: Paro

Day 2

Peaks & Peace: Chele La Pass & Kila Nunnery Hike

  • Morning Drive: Ascend a winding road to Chele La Pass (3,988m), one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. On a clear day, you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the sacred peaks Mt. Jomolhari and Jichu Drake.
  • Highlight Hike: Embark on a beautiful hike to the sacred Kila Goenpa Nunnery. This serene retreat, perched precariously on a rocky cliffside, is home to Buddhist nuns and offers a profound sense of peace and stunning views.
  • Evening: Drive to the capital city, Thimphu.

Day 3

Thimphu's Heights & Heritage: Wangditse Hike

  • Morning Hike: Enjoy a relatively short and scenic hike to Wangditse Monastery. The trail offers beautiful views of Thimphu Valley and Tashichho Dzong below, passing through tranquil forests.
  • Afternoon Sightseeing: Explore the highlights of Thimphu. Visit the gigantic Buddha Dordenma statue, the bustling Weekend Market (if applicable), the traditional Painting School, or the Tashichho Dzong.
  • Overnight: Thimphu

Day 4

Over the Pass to Punakha: Lungchuzekha Hike

  • Morning Drive: Journey over the Dochula Pass (3,100m). Stop to admire the 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens and, on a clear day, the panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Highlight Hike: Begin your hike to Lungchuzekha Goemba. This trail through ancient rhododendron and pine forests is a local favorite, leading to a monastery that offers one of the most spectacular views of the Himalayan range.
  • Late Afternoon: Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, arguably Bhutan’s most beautiful fortress, situated at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers.

Day 5

Punakha's Blessings – Return to Paro

  • Morning Hike: Hike up to the magnificent Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a unique and beautifully ornate temple perched on a hilltop overlooking the Punakha valley. The hike takes about 45-60 minutes each way through rice fields and forest.
  • Cultural Visit: Visit the whimsical Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple), dedicated to the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kunley. The walk through vibrant rice paddies is an experience in itself.
  • Afternoon: Begin the scenic drive back to Paro Valley.

Day 6

The Crown Jewel: Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike

  • Full Day Experience: Embark on the iconic hike to Paro Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This challenging but deeply rewarding 4-6 hour round-trip journey climbs 900 meters to the monastery clinging to a sheer cliff face. Departure from the Land of the Thunder Dragon
