Day 1

(Sept 21, 2026 - Mon) Arrival in Paro – Drive to Thimphu

  • Experience: Your journey begins with a breathtaking flight into Paro, surrounded by Himalayan peaks. Feel the festive excitement build as you meet your guide.
  • Scenic Drive: Enjoy the beautiful drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city. The atmosphere will be buzzing in preparation for the festival.
  • Evening: Check into your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner, with a briefing on the incredible festival experiences to come.

Day 2

(Sept 22, 2026 - Tue) The Thimphu Tshechu Festival

  • Full Day Festival Immersion: Immerse yourself in the vibrant and sacred Thimphu Tshechu at the courtyard of the majestic Tashichho Dzong. Witness monks and laymen in elaborate costumes perform a series of cham (masked dances), each telling a story from Buddhist history and mythology, intended to confer blessings and ward off evil.
  • The Experience: Join locals dressed in their finest traditional attire. Soak in the joyous, celebratory atmosphere of this major cultural event. This is a living display of Bhutan’s spiritual heritage.

(Sept 23, 2026 - Wed) From Capital to Countryside – To Punakha

  • Morning (Optional): You may choose to witness the final morning of the festival before departing.
  • Scenic Drive: Journey over the stunning Dochula Pass (3,100m). Stop to admire the 108 Memorial Chortens and, on a clear day, the breathtaking panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayan peaks.
  • Cultural Visits: Descend into the warm, subtropical Punakha Valley. Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, arguably Bhutan’s most beautiful fortress, situated at the confluence of two rivers.

Day 4

(Sept 24, 2026 - Thu) To the Glacial Valley of the Cranes

  • Nature Walk: Upon arrival, take a gentle hike along the Gangte Nature Trail. This beautiful walk descends from the Gangtey Goemba through forests and meadows into the pristine valley floor.

Day 5

(Sept 25, 2026 - Fri) Return to Paro via Dochula

  • Scenic Drive: Return to Paro, retracing your route over the Dochula Pass. Stop for photos and to enjoy the mountain views one more time.

Day 6

(Sept 26, 2026 - Sat) The Iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike

  • Spiritual Pilgrimage: Embark on the legendary hike to Taktsang Palphug Monastery, the Tiger’s Nest. This challenging but deeply rewarding climb to the monastery clinging to a cliff face is a fitting spiritual culmination to your journey.

Day 7

(Sept 27, 2026 - Sun) Zuri Hike & Paro's Cultural Treasures

(Sept 28, 2026 - Mon) Departure from Paro
