Day 1

(18th June, Thu 2026) Arrival in the Himalayan Kingdom – Drive to Thimphu

  • Experience: Your adventure begins with one of the world’s most spectacular flights into Paro. After meeting your guide, enjoy a scenic drive to the capital city, Thimphu.
  • Evening: Check into your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner and a briefing about the incredible cultural experiences ahead.
  • Overnight: Thimphu

Day 2

(19th June, Fri 2026) Exploring the Capital City

  • Full Day Sightseeing: Immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the world’s only capital city without traffic lights. Key sights include:
    • The majestic Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).
    • The towering Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking the valley.
    • The National Memorial Chorten, a hub of daily worship.
    • A traditional handicraft center or the Folk Heritage Museum.

Day 3

(20th June, Sat 2026) Over the Dochu La to Punakha

  • Scenic Drive: Journey over the Dochula Pass (3,100m). Stop to admire the 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens and, on a clear day, the breathtaking panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayan peaks.
  • Cultural Visits: Descend into the warm, subtropical Punakha Valley. Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, strategically built at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers, and the whimsical Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple).

Day 4

(21st June, Sun 2026) Into the Glacial Valley of the Cranes

  • Morning Drive: Travel to the Phobjikha Valley, a wide, glacial valley and one of Bhutan’s most important wildlife preserves, renowned as the winter home of the endangered black-necked cranes.
  • Nature Walk: Upon arrival, take a gentle hike along the Gangte Nature Trail. This beautiful walk descends from the Gangtey Goemba through forests and meadows into the pristine valley floor.
  • Visit Gangtey Goemba: Explore the impressive Gangtey Monastery, a key monastery of the Nyingmapa school of Buddhism.

(22nd June, Mon 2026) The Journey to the Cultural Heartland – Bumthang

  • Full Day Drive: Embark on one of Bhutan’s most scenic drives, crossing the Pele La Pass (3,420m)—the traditional boundary between Western and Central Bhutan. Stop at the Chendebji Chorten and enjoy stunning views throughout the journey.
  • Arrival in Bumthang: Arrive in the serene Bumthang Valley, the cultural and spiritual heartland of Bhutan, known for its ancient temples and production of Ara (local spirit) and dairy products.

Day 6

(23rd June, Tue 2026) The Nimalung Festival Experience

  • Full Day Festival Immersion: Experience the Nimalung Festival in its full glory. This is a more intimate and local festival than those in the west. Witness the spectacular mask dances (cham) performed by monks, which depict tales of gods and demons, and are meant to confer blessings and ward off evil.
  • The Atmosphere: Mingle with locals from across the region who gather in their finest traditional attire for this annual religious celebration. The vibe is deeply spiritual and authentically local.

Day 7

(24th June, Wed 2026) Bumthang's Sacred Sites

  • Cultural Exploration: Explore the wealth of sacred sites in the Bumthang valleys. A curated tour may include:
    • Jakar Dzong (The “Castle of the White Bird”).
    • Jambay Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built by King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century.
    • Kurjey Lhakhang, a temple complex housing a rock with the body imprint of Guru Rinpoche.

(26th June, Fri 2026) The Grand Finale: Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike
