(March 29th 2026, Sunday) Thimphu's Cultural Heart & Wangditse Hike

  • Morning Hike: Start with a gentle and scenic hike to Wangditse Monastery. The trail offers beautiful panoramic views of Thimphu Valley and is a perfect warm-up.
  • Afternoon Sightseeing: Dive into the culture of the capital. Visit the monumental Buddha Dordenma, witness the traditional artistry at the Painting School, and explore the magnificent Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government.
  • Evening: Explore the local craft markets for unique souvenirs.

Day 3

(March 30th 2026, Mon) To the Sub-Tropical Punakha Valley

  • Morning Drive: Journey over the stunning Dochula Pass (3,100m). Stop to admire the 108 Memorial Chortens and, if the weather is clear, enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks.
  • Cultural Visit: Descend into the warm Punakha valley and visit the whimsical Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple), dedicated to the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kunley.

(April 1st 2026, Wed) The Paro Tsechu Festival

  • Full Day Festival Experience: Immerse yourself in the vibrant and sacred Paro Tsechu at the majestic Rinpung Dzong. Witness monks and laymen in elaborate costumes perform a series of cham (masked dances), each telling a story of Buddhist history, mythology, and morality.
  • The Experience: Join locals in their finest traditional dress. Receive blessings from the sacred thongdrel (a giant appliqué thangka) that is unveiled on the pre-dawn of the final day. Soak in the joyous, celebratory atmosphere of this unique cultural event.

(April 2nd 2026, Thu) The Iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike
